This class is taught by:

Denise Peterson

RYT-200, Baptiste Methodology

Advanced Teacher Training, Baptiste Methodology

Denise discovered yoga while recovering from a car accident in Minnesota. She had a Baron Baptiste DVD where she practiced from home watching the DVD. When she moved to Jacksonville she decided to wonder outside of her living room and into a Baptiste studio. She fell in love with the practice and the community at the studio. And through this she was inspired to develop and maintain a regular practice at the studio. As a teacher Denise hopes to share the joy, freedom, growth and life transformation that she experiences through her own practice, training and everyday life. Outside of the studio Denise likes to travel, be outdoors, spend time at the beach, she enjoys the arts, and spending time with family and friends.

Whitney Heflin

RYT-200, Baptiste Methodology
Advanced Teacher Training, Baptiste Methodology

Whitney discovered yoga in 2010 when she asked a friend to recommend a local yoga studio.
She had heard yoga was a great workout and had the added benefit of quieting the mind. In search of a little peace of mind, Whitney attended a class offered by a local Baptiste Affiliated studio, and was immediately hooked. Having benefited so greatly from the sense of centeredness, peace and good health this style of yoga provided for her, Whitney embarked on becoming a certified yoga teacher the spring of 2012 so she could share this wonderful practice with others. Her intention as an instructor is to teach her students how to find peace and ease in their heart and in their mind through Baptiste influenced power yoga. Outside the studio, Whitney works in the finance, accounting and risk management field for a Wellness company. She holds a Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, both from the University of North Florida. Outside of work and the yoga room, Whitney enjoys spending time with her friends and family, attempting to train her 75lb unruly Golden Retriever, outdoors, concerts, and traveling.

Danielle was immediately hooked after her first yoga class. She fell in love with the movement and connection she experienced with her body and her breath. Through her newly developed habit she spent some time exploring different styles and attending classes religiously five days a week. She was so passionate about her own experiences practicing yoga that her boyfriend recommended that she look into teaching. He told her that if she loved something so much, she should share! And so she did! Within a week of his suggestion Danielle was signed up for teacher training! This training was taught implementing the Baptiste Methodology and it was during her training that Danielle feel in love with the Baptiste methodology. She is particularly moved by the methodology being founded in empowerment and meeting the individual as they are/ as they come.  Since the completion of her training, Danielle dove right in to teaching as much as she could, and she loves every minute of it. She hopes to connect and share this passion with her students. And through this connection she intends to develop a platform for them to grow their own awareness of passions that they may have in their own lives. Danielle leads the Teacher Mentorship Program at Hot Spot Power Yoga, and is also a Client Care Adviser for Hot Spot Power Yoga. Danielle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from the University of North Florida.  She is in the process of obtaining her Baptiste Certification and her RYT-500.
