Leah Hansen is a Certified Baptiste Teacher, and Co-Owner of Hot Spot Power Yoga, a Baptiste influenced yoga studio with two locations in Jacksonville Fl. Leah discovered Baptiste yoga in 2005. She immediately fell in love with the practice and the emotional release that she experienced as a result of the physical demands that the Baptiste methodology had to offer. Through the tools learned on her mat, Leah began to make significant transitions in her life in order to create a more fulfilling life.

Leah brings curiosity to her practice in what her body is capable of physically and in how she can see things from a different perspective in her life. This gives her a fresh point of view and a more playful and empowering space to work from. As a teacher Leah’s intention is to inspire transformation in others, and to give them the tools to go out and LIVE BIG in their lives.

Leah holds her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Florida. She left her corporate career at Johnson & Johnson in 2013 to focus her energy on what she loves, Yoga. She works full time as an instructor, studio owner, wife and mother in Jacksonville FL.

Jon is a Baptiste Certified Instructor and Co-Owner of Hot Spot Power Yoga. Throughout much of his life Jon had no exposure to yoga, and never realized that it could be accessible to an ex-collegiate football and track and field athlete. After some time of avoiding the gentle suggestions from his girlfriend Leah, Jon finally joined her for his first class Baptiste class. Impressed with how this style of yoga challenged the physical aspects of strength, flexibility, and balance, Jon committed to a consistent yoga practice. It didn’t take long before Jon realized the power of this style of yoga to connect the mind, body and spirit. Witnessing Leah experience her teacher certification and the powerful connections with ourselves and others which the program facilitates, Jon was inspired to pursue a path of continued growth through a Baptiste Methodology Teacher Certification Program as well. Jon graduated in April 2011. Jon has a deep admiration of the transformations that are possible through the application of the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga teachings. Through teaching yoga, Jon’s vision is to help facilitate a connection with the student’s authentic self to realize their greatest potential. Today Jon is the proud Co-Owner of Hot Spot Power Yoga with his wife Leah. Outside the studio, Jon works in the research and development of medical devices. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The College of New Jersey and Master of Science Degrees from Drexel University. Jon and Leah recently married in 2011 and they like to spend time together with their friends and family, and enjoy traveling, snowboarding, scuba diving, and going to the beach.

Danielle was immediately hooked after her first yoga class. She fell in love with the movement and connection she experienced with her body and her breath. Through her newly developed habit she spent some time exploring different styles and attending classes religiously five days a week. She was so passionate about her own experiences practicing yoga that her boyfriend recommended that she look into teaching. He told her that if she loved something so much, she should share! And so she did! Within a week of his suggestion Danielle was signed up for teacher training! This training was taught implementing the Baptiste Methodology and it was during her training that Danielle feel in love with the Baptiste methodology. She is particularly moved by the methodology being founded in empowerment and meeting the individual as they are/ as they come.  Since the completion of her training, Danielle dove right in to teaching as much as she could, and she loves every minute of it. She hopes to connect and share this passion with her students. And through this connection she intends to develop a platform for them to grow their own awareness of passions that they may have in their own lives. Lori discovered yoga by dropping into a Bikram studio in 2003. It was the hardest thing she had ever experienced and laid flat on her back most of the class. She thought that if she could ever make it through an entire class standing then she would be able to accomplish anything in life. That kept her coming back to yoga. Eventually she wanted to branch out and see what other styles were available which is when she discovered Baptiste Power Yoga. She has built a committed personal practice in the Baptiste community as her love for the practice offers her a place to clear her mind, get a killer workout, and overcome her own personal fears. As a teacher she hopes to inspire others to have fun and to feel the joy and benefits of their own yoga practice. Outside of the studio Lori loves going to concerts/ music festivals and volunteering at the local theaters.

Whitney discovered yoga in 2010 when she asked a friend to recommend a local yoga studio.
She had heard yoga was a great workout and had the added benefit of quieting the mind. In search of a little peace of mind, Whitney attended a class offered by a local Baptiste Affiliated studio, and was immediately hooked. Having benefited so greatly from the sense of centeredness, peace and good health this style of yoga provided for her, Whitney embarked on becoming a certified yoga teacher the spring of 2012 so she could share this wonderful practice with others. Her intention as an instructor is to teach her students how to find peace and ease in their heart and in their mind through Baptiste influenced power yoga. Outside the studio, Whitney works in the finance, accounting and risk management field for a Wellness company. She holds a Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, both from the University of North Florida. Jessica's first athletic endeavor was wing chin kung fu. She trained and competed diligently for 6 years. She sought out yoga as a peaceful compliment to the kung fu and found a tremendous amount of stress relief when she got on her mat. She loved the discipline of Ashtanga Yoga and found that the harder she physically worked on her mat, the more focused she became mentally and the lighter she felt emotionally. Through her teacher training she found that the work she did on her mat was a powerful tool to heal her body, unravel the attachments in her mind and allow her spirit to experience its truest state. Happiness. As a teacher her goal is to help students align their bodies in a way to prevent injury, and to teach students yogic techniques so that they can learn how to heal themselves on and off the mat. She is an instigator of awareness, teaching personal accountability in becoming happier and healthier human beings. Jessica finds that through teaching compassion, patience, understanding and ambition she too learns to expand her self through these virtues. The more she gives, the more she feels she too grows. Outside of the studio Jessica is a dedicated wife and mother of two children, Liam and Bella. Liam was diagnosed with Autism at the age of two and Jessica is intrigued with using yoga as a therapy for autism. She has taught yoga in Liam's class and look forward to sharing yoga with more special kids. She loves beach time, music festivals and just being with family.

Billy was first introduced to yoga by a crusty old Navy SEAL Master Chief that dragged him to his studio. Billy had been complaining about a couple of nagging injuries. After an incredibly humbling initial month at the studio, Billy began to love the benefits he was seeing in several areas of his life and decided to stick with it. A few years later he is still amazed at how much this practice challenges, enriches and expands his life. As a teacher Billy hopes to share his love for this practice with others and instigate positive changes in their lives. Outside the studio Billy loves to paddle board and spend time with friends, especially with a good cup of coffee or beer.
